Flipkart names Krishna Raghavan as new Chief People Officer

A few months back, Smriti Singh, Senior Vice President and Chief HR officer, Flipkart quit after a one-year stint. Ever since the role of the head HR has been vacant. Now, the e-commerce major has found a replacement from within its leadership team.

Currently, the senior vice president of engineering at Flipkart, Krishna Raghavan will head the HR function, effective from April.

As CPO, he will be responsible for people, talent, and rewards, and directly report to CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy.

Before joining Flipkart Group, Raghavan was the vice president, engineering at Future Ecommerce Infrastructure, with more than 10 years’ experience working in product companies across the United States and India.

He had been working closely with the product and services aspect of the business until now. Raghavan's appointment as the CPO reiterates that professionals from non HR backgrounds are also now being chosen to not only be a part of the function but lead it. How he uses his experience and puts his business acumen to develop more relevant and effective talent strategies for Flipkart is something to look forward to.
