Bank employees to get health insurance
State-run general insurance companies could face a windfall of Rs. 1600 crores business a year following the agreement between the IBA and the bank unions affecting over 10 lakh staffers. From now on, banks will buy health insurance cover from one of the state-run general insurance companies instead of reimbursing medical expenses of staff as part of their expenses.
