IndiGo hikes pilot’s salary by 8% in view of steady flight operations

The airline also announced that there is another hike in play only if there are no more disruptions in future.
IndiGo hikes pilot’s salary by 8% in view of steady flight operations

Aviation bigwig IndiGo has made a compensation announcement by unveiling that their pilots’ salaries have been increased by 8% in light of the continuous steady flight operations.As per the new government update, full regular international flight services have resumed in India after the COVID-19 outbreak on March 27th. 

Full regular domestic flights resumed in the country on October 18th last year.

“Now, as we have established continuous steady operations, on behalf of our managing director, the board of directors and the senior leadership team, I am pleased to announce an upwards revision of eight per cent in the salaries of all our pilots with effect from April 1," said Ashim Mittra, Senior Vice-President (Flight Operations), IndiGo, in an email communication to the pilots. 

He also added that the HR team has been notified on the same and furthermore, the company also plans to implement an additional 6.5% revision with effect from November 1st only if there are no additional disruptions.

As the pandemic continues to move up and down, the aviation industry has been steadily making efforts to tackle the issues and solve them in earnest. Recently, Indigo's co-founder was appointed as new Managing Director to kick-start a new growth strategy for the company and to lead them in new uncharted markets.
