XLRI attracts 25% higher salary package for its 1-year GMP
The recently concluded placement season at Xavier Labour Relations Institute of India (XLRI), Jamshedpur for the class of 2010 of the General Management Programme saw salary packages offered to students increase by 25% over last year. While the highest salary package offered this year was Rs.30 lakhs, as against Rs.24 lakhs this year; the average package stood at Rs.15 lakhs this year. Corporate such as Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Future Group, Google, IBM, Mahindra Satyam, HCL, Mind Tree, HP, Wipro, Genpact, Tata Motors, SAP, TCS, Apollo Hospitals, Exide, amongst others participated in the placement session, which had 82 student participants. While the demand for personnel at senior management positions was high, the placement session also saw close to 17% students shifting from their sectors and industries and 38% changing their roles. Transition of medical practitioners to managerial roles in the healthcare sector and project management in IT to business management and consultancy was also observed.
