According to OC Tanner report, those who give recognition at work are more confident. About 90 per cent of employees affirmed that those who give recognition to employees feel that their work in the past 12 months has represented significant innovations. The report highlighted that giving recognition more often, employees not only felt more secure but also felt more optimistic about their future.

The study was conducted by OC Tanner amongst 3,496 employees, who were above 18 years of age and were working full-time in companies with more than 500 workforces. It was conducted in multiple countries across four continents, including the Australia, Singapore, US, the UK, Canada, Germany and India.

The report projected that 89% agreed that giving recognition creates a better company culture, while 79% said that giver works harder after they recognize another’s achievement. 75% respondents felt that giving recognition want to make them stay longer in current organization. 

Also, the report highlighted 86 % affirmed that giving recognition helped them connect better with their office peers and 81 % felt it made them connect better to their organisations. 

US and UK were rated higher than other countries  in terms of giving recognition and middle range countries included Australia, Canada, and Germany employees, as per the report .
