An executive of the multinational firm, Genpact committed suicide after being suspended from work over sexual harassment allegations.

In the suicide note it was mentioned that though the allegations are baseless, he feared the "entire Genpact would know about it. Hence I do not have the courage to face anyone."

It is also reported that the deceased was temporarily suspended from the company pending an investigation into the allegations leveled against him by two employees.

A spokesperson for Genpact confirmed that executive was on suspension. “It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the news of an employee’s untimely death. Our heart goes out to his family at this tragic time. We had received a complaint against him and had put him on temporary suspension pending the outcome of the investigation,” a spokesperson said.

To have a fair, unbiased inquiry, he was placed under temporary suspension pending the closure of the investigation in line with a legal requirement and company policy so that ICC could carry out a reasonable investigation into the allegations received from two female employees," the company said in a statement.
