Indian Immigrants are ‘most entrepreneurial group’ in US

Out of all groups in the United States including natives, Indian Immigrants were found to be the most ‘entrepreneurial group’. This data was revealed in ‘the national academies of science, engineering and medicine report’ titled as ‘The Economic and Fiscal Consequences of Immigration’.

The report showcased fiscal and economic impact made by immigrants and confirmed past –decade research which indicated that immigrants and their descendants made worthy contributions to US economic growth, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

As per the report, the Immigrants have contributed $2 trillion to the estimated GDP growth of world's largest economy during the year 2015-16. The foreign-born workers from India and China achieved well in terms of wages and earnings as compared to natives. Moreover, immigrant businesses represent more than a quarter of businesses in the sectors including transportation, accommodation, and recreation and entertainment.

The report also mentioned that the children of immigrants are the strongest fiscal contributors of the US population.

Off late, there has been a debate on the question- whether immigrants are a drain on the US economy or not? Democratic Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton supported the fact that immigrants contribute big to the US economy, whereas, Republican candidate Donald Trump has called for suppression of illegal immigrants as they compete with the American workers.
