Axis Bank's CIO Amit Sethi asked to resign

Axis Bank has asked it's almost five-year-old employee, Amit Sethi to resign from his post of President and Chief Information Officer. The exit has been caused by a letter from the whistleblower to the bank’s management. As per speculation, the letter contained allegations of irregularities and inappropriate deals. The complaint was regarding the functioning of the bank’s technology department, which was headed by Amit Sethi.

As per the report, Avinash Raghavendra, who has been with the bank for 20 years, is said to be taking over the responsibilities of Amit Sethi.

Interestingly, as per Amit’s LinkedIn profile, he has been awarded ‘The Asian Banker Bank Technology Leadership Achievement Award’ in 2015. The Asian Banker organization had apparently appreciated the technical innovations and the enhancement in the bank’s service capabilities observed in the past 2 years, under his tenure as CIO.

Before working with Axis, Amit has also worked with Banks like Yes Bank and ICICI Bank. He is an alumnus of Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), from where he has pursued his MBA with specialization in Finance. He has done his bachelor’s in engineering from Faculty of Technology and Engineering.

People Matters has reached Axis Bank and are awaiting response.
