As the social networking giant, Facebook continues to repair its image after a chain of scandals, it appoints former global marketing leader of HP Inc, Antonio Lucio as the new Chief Marketing Officer.

Antonio will be joining Facebook from 4th September 2018 and would be reporting to the Chief Product Officer, Chris Cox. Besides leading the company’s communication strategy, Antonio would also be contributing to diversifying Facebook’s senior-executive ranks.

Praising Antonio’s capabilities Chris Cox exclaimed, “Antonio has a lot of experience leading marketing for major brands like HP and Visa - and he's been recognized for both his talents and commitment to diversity. Now he'll help us share Facebook's story with the world.”

“Everyday people use our apps to connect with family and friends and make a difference in their communities. It's what motivates me and our teams - and I'm excited to see how Antonio brings our mission to life," he added further.

Before joining HP in 2015 as Global Chief Marketing and Communication Officer, Antonio was working in Visa in a similar role. He worked in Visa for about eight years and created the company’s first global positioning and brand-identity system.

Besides Pepsi and Visa, he has held marketing management positions at companies including PepsiCo, Kraft General Foods, RJR Foods International and Procter & Gamble.

Now as Facebook continues to deal with the fallout from the Cambridge Analytica scandal that erupted earlier this year, and more, Antonio has to help the company in building a marketing and communications strategy that not only restores the brand’s image but also improvises it further.
