Dr. Sudendra Rao has moved out from his role as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Global Head of Human Resources at Cadila Pharmaceuticals. The Ahmedabad headquartered pharmaceutical company appointed Rao to lead HR initiative in April 2017.

A seasoned professional, Rao has over 25 years of experience and has worked in diverse industries including unionized manufacturing in pharma, biotech, CRO, API, chemicals, healthcare services and innovative technology industries. Previously, he has worked with companies like Vita, Quest Diagnostics, GSK, Aditya Birla Group, Samsung, Videocon Group, GE, HP, and Toshiba.

On being asked about his future projects, he shares that he has not decided on his next move yet, but he is currently contemplating US and India options.

Reflecting on his overall career journey, he says “It has been a fantastic ride so far.  Working with entrepreneurial technology startup to large Fortune 300 in various Industries, leading transformation, globalization, and growth across five contents have made me appreciate the diversity. 

He received his Ph.D. in HRD from the Colorado State University, USA apart from MA in Economics, Bachelors in Law and PG Diploma in Business Administration. For the past 18 years, he has been based in the US with HR leadership roles supporting operations, transformation and growth.
