Star India chucks out COO, to revamp itself
As a part of its corporate streamlining exercise, Rupert Murdoch owned Star TV has chucked its COO, Laureen Ong. The decision to revamp the company which currently broadcasts in 53 asian countries including India as Star India Private Ltd, was taken at a meeting between Fox International Channels chief David Haslingden and News Corp’s European and Asian head James Murdoch. It is a part of management alignment which the company aims to achieve. The decision comes at a time when star is facing a tough challenge in India due to economic downturn and the subsequent decrease in advertisement spending by companies.
