247around to add 2000 temporary staff for festive season
As the festive season approaches, hiring peaks in anticipation of it. Intending to keep up with the heavy festive season sales and services of electronic goods and home appliances during Diwali, 247around, a digital post-purchase home appliance servicing platform is adding 200 service centers and 2000 temporary staff to its present capacity.
The platform intends to fulfill the sale targets of popular ecommerce platforms; Flipkart and Amazon and offline brands like Sharp, Godrej, Akai, JVC, Wybor, Willett; and offline consumer electronics retail chains like Giriyas, Kohinoor, Satya, and Bajaj by ensuring uninterrupted after-sales services during this period.
The company currently employs 10,000 engineers and will add the said 2,000 temporary workers to meet the festival demand pan-India.
247around partners with dealers, distributors, and e-commerce players, enabling them with analytical assistance and delivering best-in-class services such as installations, demonstrations, and repair and warranty services.
During this Diwali season, the tech-enabled platform will also be partnering up with offline brands like PHX, Houston, Vyom to help them get listed on Flipkart and Amazon and drive their PAN India presence by handling their service support and 4 hours of installations in local areas and within 48 hours in remote areas.
Nitin Malhotra, CEO & Co-Founder, 247around stated, “247around closes nearly 45,000 calls every month. But, Diwali is the time when Indian consumers splurge more on electronics and home-appliances due to eye-popping discounts offered by popular ecommerce websites. As a result, we end up closing 65,000 calls within just 15 days. To complement the same we are adding on more service centers as well as temporary engineers to meet the escalating consumer demands and ensure best-in-class consumer experience without any pause.”
The platform will offer TAT- based incentives to these engineers to boost their morale and performance. It will also be providing training to these temporary engineers through virtual classrooms along with personal interactions.
The installed base of home appliances in India is 3 billion units, of which more than $300 Mn comes in for repairs every year. This takes the Indian appliance after-sales support market to $4 Bn. While the festive season is the time wherein both consumption and hiring peaks, given the current slowdown in various sectors of the economy this year, it will be interesting to see if the festive season is able to put the shine back in the slowdown in consumer demand in the country.
