To bring transparency in the functioning of commission and to save cost and time, Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission is planning to leverage information technology (IT). Their plan is to simplify the whole job application process. Through a facility of one-time registration the applicant on registration will get user ID and password and if the candidate is found suitable for any post he or she will be informed through SMS or e-mail. For conducting the online examination either some government or private agency would be hired. Although the medium of examination has now shifted to online, however, there will be no change in the existing fee structure.
Chairman Major General D S Rana, HPPSC shared that conducting the exams online would bring down the cost by 35% to 40%.
He further informed about the introduction of “My Exam My Online Review” which would allow the applicant to download his/her answer sheet online to match it with the answer key. The online examination system would start from April 15. With this initiative, HPPSC seeks to save time, money and ensure secrecy.
