This is what right education and right attitude to learn can help you achieve. A son of a welder from Bihar’s Sanhouli district who is set to graduate from IIT-Kharagpur this year has bagged a whopping Rs 1.02 crore package from US software giant Microsoft.

Vatsalya Singh Chauhan got admitted in IIT after clearing IIT-JEE entrance exam where he ranked 382. In pursuit of getting admitted to IIT, he enrolled himself in one of the engineering coaching classes in Kota in 2011 after which he got admitted in IIT-Kharagpur.  

The 21-year old final year student, Vatsalya is a Hindi-medium government school student who has also scored 75% in his Class 12 exams. 

During the campus placement in December, Microsoft offered Vatsalya a job offer with a package of Rs 1.02 crore. His father had taken an education loan worth Rs 3.50 lakh from a bank for his admission at IIT. His father fabricates and welds shutters and doors to make a living. They are elated after hearing the news. He is the eldest of the six siblings and his  younger brother is preparing for IITs in Delhi while his younger sister is preparing for medical entrance examination.
