To support the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY 2.0)*, Muthoot Fincorp has partnered with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to train over 10,000 youths over the next three years and make them job ready. PMKVY is a scheme under the Skill India program, driven by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The objective of the programme is to skill over ten million unemployed Indian youth that will help them in securing a better living.

With the partnership, Muthoot Fincorp claims to have become the first major private sector player to partner with NSDC to launch the PMKVY 2.0 programme. Under the scheme, Muthoot Fincorp targets to train over 10,000 people over the next three years and make them job ready.

NSDC has approved training for a target of 3,000 candidates in the first year and 3,500 each in the subsequent two years. 

The intention of this partnership is to mobilize, train and recruit branch/field level employees, purpose fit for MPG companies to ensure enhanced productivity and stability. The skilling model is intended for a 290 hours curriculum, which will operate on a “Captive Employment” model.  Training will be given as per BFSI approved training content and curriculum. The Project is strategized under the Hire-Train-Deploy Model.

The Muthoot Pappachan Group will also absorb 80 percent of the trained students into the group for regular positions, after successful completion of training and assessment of the candidates. 

* PMKVY 2.0 is the scheme for another four years (2016-2020) to impart skilling to 10 million youth of the country.
