Online education platform Udacity looks to double down on enterprises

Online education platform Udacity is doubling down on working with enterprises to both upskill employees as well as add more hiring partners in India.

As per an ET report, in the first half of 2018, Udacity has done more than twice the enterprise business revenue it posted in 2017. Its enterprise clients include IT giants like Infosys and Wipro to new age companies like Flipkart and Myntra.

The firm has also partnered with around 100 firms including Flipkart, HCL, Myntra, Tata Elxsi, Ola, Swiggy and Zomato to be the hiring partners.

Chief executive Vishal Makhijani stated, “We are a consumer-focused company, but over the last year, we have also built capabilities to allow companies like Infosys and others to skill up their own employees. Students are ultimately concerned about their job prospects, so the companies play a huge role. Having an inside track, you get to have a first-hand feedback on the skills that are in demand.”

In March this year, the Silicon Valley-based learning platform collaborated with Jabong and Myntra to provide their employees access to Udacity’s courses on Machine Learning and Deep Learning.

The company had also partnered with Infosys to offer an online-offline integrated self-driving car engineer reskill programme. Last year, it partnered with Google along with Pluralsight for a new scholarship program. In this scholarship program, Google in collaboration with Pluralsight and Udacity will train 130 thousand developers and students on the emerging technologies like Mobile and Web development, Machine Learning, AR/VR, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud Platforms.
