Rural banks to cut jobs
The government of India has directed rural bank to reduce jobs and outsource operations of IT, cash remittance, and house-keeping. These banks presently employ 80000 employees and the government directive can affect approximately 10-12% of the workforce. This move, the government states, is to improve productivity in rural banks.
