Flipkart bets big on interns, hires 63 in 2 mths

Online retailer Flipkart is on a spree to hire summer interns, both from India and abroad. The number of students interning at Flipkart has risen to 108 this year from 37 in 2012. In all, 63 non-tech interns have joined the online retailer in April and May. Of this, 60 are from India. Three students are from Leeds University, London, IE Business School in Spain and Netherlands-based HAS University who interned for 8-10 weeks studying supply chain management and retail. The 60 management students from India belong to IIMs, Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi (FMS), Management Development Institute (MDI), SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE).
