Senior level appointments on the rise in India

Vivek Paranjpe back at RIL to head HR  Reliance Industries, India’s largest private sector company, has brought back Vivek Paranjpe as the head of human resources to meet personnel challenges as it buys companies overseas. Mr Paranjpe has a mandate to formalise succession planning, groom managers and restructure performance management systems. Besides being a Reliance veteran, he has worked with multinationals such as Hewlett-Packard. Mr Paranjpe succeeds the late VV Bhatt, who brought talent to the company from public sector behemoths when its founder Dhirubhai Ambani built the world’s largest grassroots refinery in Jamnagar and expanded the petrochemical business.

Mr Paranjpe has a mandate to formalise succession planning, groom managers and restructure performance management systems. Besides being a Reliance veteran, he has worked with multinationals such as Hewlett-Packard. RIL recently formed core teams, comprising mainly of business heads, to implement the new initiative. Finance, HR and technology are three areas where the transformation initiatives have gathered pace. “It’s still at the leadership level,” said a person close to the development. Multinational consultants such as Ernst & Young (E&Y) are working with the finance division, he added.

Sandeep Mallik appointed HR director at Aviva Life Insurance India

 Sandeep Mallik has been appointed HR director at Aviva Life Insurance India, a joint venture between the Dabur Group and Aviva Group. Mallik previously headed up the HR function at Emerson India. He will be part of the leadership team responsible for the development and implementation of strategies, policies and practices in response to Aviva India’s HR objectives.

Aptech appoints Krishnan as Head HR

 Learning solutions provider Aptech today said it has appointed Easwaran Krishnan as Head of Human Resources department. In his new role, Krishna will direct the company''s human resources functions to ensure that they align with the companys goals and objectives, Aptech said in a statement. Prior, to this Krishnan was serving Barclays Bank PLC based in Mauritius, as the Head HR for the Retail and Commercial Bank.
