All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with a leading internship and training platform, Internshala, in order to facilitate internships for Indian students. 

The MoU was signed today by AICTE Chairman, Dr. Anil D Sahasrabudhe, in presence of AICTE Vice Chairman, Dr. M. P. Poonia, Member Secretary, Prof A. P. Mittal, and other AICTE council members.  According to the MoU, the colleges that are facilitated under AICTE, the regulatory body under the HRD Ministry, will now assist their students in finding suitable internships through Internshala free of cost. 

At present, Internshala is used by over 40,000 organizations which offer more than 4 lac internships every year. Not only this platform help students find internships but also provide counseling and guidance. 

Sarvesh Agrawal, the founder, and CEO of Internshala said, "The Government of India has identified skill building as a top national priority and it is heartening to see AICTE take concrete steps to improve the employability of our graduates. A meaningful internship acts as a launch pad for a student's dream career as they not only get to practically implement the theories which they learned in their lecture rooms but also get to make more informed career choices. AICTE aims to improve the employability of students and is striving to make internships mandatory for all the students enrolled in AICTE approved academic institutions.AICTE Chairman, Dr. Anil D Sahasrabudhe, said, "We have made internships mandatory for students so that they can be equipped with skills before they take up jobs. Students will get exposure to the work environment and their professional skills including technical, managerial and communicational skills would be honed. Internships would make them industry-ready before they step out of their colleges. We are hoping that, through our partnership with Internshala, colleges and students get easier access to more and meaningful internships."

Internshala helps students provide internships in diverse fields including engineering, management, applied arts, science, law, design, hotel management, architecture, and so forth.
