Sunil Garg joins Lighthouse-Canton as MD and group head for research and investments

Lighthouse Canton, a global investment institution, has appointed Sunil Garg as the company’s managing director and group head for research and investments.

A seasoned financial leader, Garg will add considerable thrust to the firm’s research and investment framework, the company said in a statement.

With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Garg is an expert in global markets, banking, and macroeconomic research.

Prior to joining Lighthouse Canton, Garg was international equity research head at JP Morgan. He oversaw the organisation's global expansion of ESG research and data-driven research in EMEA and APAC. He was also a member of the corporate investment banking management committee.

Previously, Garg has held leadership positions with some of the renowned investment banking institutions in London and Hong Kong, including Fox-Pitt Kelton, Barclays de Zoete Wedd, and HSBC.

Garg’s rich experience in global equity markets, data-driven research and corporate investment banking dovetails into Lighthouse Canton’s plans to digitise and diversify its offerings and services to its U/HNWI and institutional clients.  As Lighthouse Canton pushes to diversify and digitise services and offerings he will work closely with various teams across the firm’s offices in Singapore, India and Dubai to further evolve the offering.

“In our ongoing growth phase, we are significantly bolstering our offerings by digitising our services and products. Sunil’s investment acumen and expertise in the financial service market will add thrust to Lighthouse Canton’s vision of offering world-class investment solutions internationally,” said Shilpi Chowdhary, CEO of Lighthouse Canton.

“I am excited to be joining one of the fastest growing global investment institutions and be a part of this exciting growth journey. The firm plans to deliver excellence at scale to the global clients with our innovative investment solutions, across segments,” added Garg.

Headquartered in Singapore, Lighthouse Canton employs over 100 experienced professionals across its offices in Singapore, Dubai and four cities in India. The firm serves a diverse range of global accredited investors, including private clients and some of the world’s largest institutional investors, overseeing north of 3 US dollars’ worth of assets under management and advisory.
