Swiggy introduces Paw-ternity’ Policy for pet parents

To celebrate National Pet Day and support employees who are pet parents, online food ordering and delivery platform Swiggy has introduced the Paw-ternity Policy, effective April 11.

“Starting April 11, National Pet Day, the Policy will support employees on pet care and adoption,” said Girish Menon – Chief Human Resource Officer, Swiggy.

In addition to annual leave entitlement, Swiggy has decided to provide additional paid day off to its employees to welcome their new companion home. Pet parents may also opt for work-from-home during the settling-in period to provide comfort and support to their new family members.

Pet parents will also be allowed to use their casual or sick leave to attend to the needs including vaccination and veterinary appointment of their pets. Swiggy also announced that bereavement leave will now cover pets, providing employees with the time they need to grieve and recover from the loss.
