Cross-border payment startup 'Remitr' raises $1 million

Remitware Payments Inc (Remitr), a global payments startup has raised around $1 million from the key investors including Vijay Shekhar Sharma,Paytm founder and Kunal Shah and Sandeep Tandon, FreeCharge founder. Also ,  Vishal Gondal of GOQii  and Pravin Gandh , seedfund founder also contributed . 

Besides some of the technology entrepreneurs and angel investors based in the US, the UK and India, other investors who were present in funding round include - Laurent Nordin of McKinsey & Co; Prashant Gulati and Amit Singhal, founders of the UAE’s Smart Start Fund; Yezdi Lashkari, founder, Flexmoney; Nirmal Bhogilal of Batliboi; Singapore Angel Network.  

The company has strong presence at two places - the UAE and Canada, where it has integrated with the local start-up ecosystem. Remitr is associated with In5 Innovation Hub based in the UAE and works closely with DMZ in Toronto. 

The global digital money transfer platform-Remitr was founded in 2015 by Kanchan Kumar, Sandeep Jhingran and Sandeep Todi. It uses proprietary payment network and makes end-to-end payments. 

The startup is now executing its expansion plans in Australia,  US, UK and Europe.
