Binny Bansal invests $1Mn in learning platform, Crio.Do

Crio. Do, a learning platform for Software Developers and Tech Talent, has raised a seed funding of $1Mn led by Binny Bansal. The seed funding led by Flipkart Mafia (Flipkart employees turned entrepreneurs) came forward to support one of their own as well.

The funding round saw participation from the ex-Flipsters and founders of the B2B e-commerce platform, Udaan, Amod Malviya, Vaibhav Gupta, and Sujeet Kumar, as well as Mekin Maheshwari who has founded Udhyam Learning Foundation.  Ravi Garikipati, who was till recently the Chief Technology Officer at Flipkart has also invested in Crio.

Crio. Do was founded by ex- Flipster, Rathinamurthy R and ex-Googler Sridher Jeyachandran, Crio.Do which provides “work-like” micro-experiences curated from industry with real-world problems, solution landscape and environment optimized for learning.

The Bengaluru-based startup said it would fundamentally use the investments in building their products and scaling up their team to serve a broader base of technology skills. 

Bansal was quoted in the media saying, “There is an increasing need for qualified tech talent which is a global problem and huge market opportunity. Crio has an exceptional team, and their approach towards solving this problem is unique, backed with practical insights and experience.”

India has one of the largest developer bases with around 4 million professionals. However, with the advent of newer technologies, there lies a significant requirement to reskill and upskill employees. 

On company's future plans, Rathinamurthy stated he wants to collaborate with engineering colleges to assure more of the graduates that come into the job market with skills they require to excel at the job.
