Vikram Solar has named Arun Mittal as the new CEO of VSL Powerhive, its wholly owned subsidiary created to meet India’s fast-rising demand for advanced energy storage systems.

In his new role, Mittal brings over 30 years of experience across battery manufacturing, storage design, and large-scale business transformation. Most recently, he served as India MD & CEO at Lohum Cleantech, strengthening operations and advanced new models in battery recycling and circular economy solutions.
Prior to that, he worked with Exide Energy Solutions, shaping its lithium-ion manufacturing roadmap. His long stint at Exide Industries, rising from Management Trainee to Executive Director, was marked by innovation, market growth, and capability building.
Mittal is also a member of ICAI, ICSI, and ICMAI.
Commenting on the appointment, Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman & Managing Director of Vikram Solar, said, “Battery energy storage is the backbone of the next phase of the global clean energy transition. Its role in ensuring reliability and grid stability cannot be overstated. Arun’s leadership will accelerate our ambition to build world-class battery capabilities and a future-ready energy storage ecosystem.”
Sharing his vision for the new role, Arun Mittal, CEO of VSL Powerhive, said, “Battery energy storage is the backbone of the next phase of the global clean energy transition, and its importance in ensuring reliability and grid stability cannot be overstated.
