DHL Express has appointed Saurabh Dalvi as Head of HR for its IT Services operations in India, reinforcing its people leadership in a key technology hub.
The company confirmed the appointment in January 2026. Dalvi brings more than 18 years of experience in human resources, with expertise spanning talent acquisition, employee engagement and HR strategy.
He has been with DHL Express for over 15 years, holding a series of leadership roles across the HR function. Most recently, Dalvi served as Head – Talent Management (Talent Acquisition & Employee Engagement), where he led pan-India hiring strategies and drove employee engagement initiatives.
Prior to that, he was Head – Performance & Programs, overseeing HR performance reporting and delivering regional and global HR programmes across India. His tenure has focused on building scalable HR systems and aligning people initiatives with business outcomes.
Internal leadership progression
Dalvi’s elevation reflects a broader trend of internal leadership progression within multinational companies operating in India’s technology and shared services sectors.
Before joining DHL Express, Dalvi worked as a Business HR Partner at Lavasa Corporation Ltd, contributing to HR initiatives linked to the company’s large-scale infrastructure project. Earlier roles included positions at Patni Computers, where he managed HR responsibilities for the VnV business unit, and at Hewitt Associates in HR outsourcing.
He began his career in HR operations and recruitment, gaining cross-industry experience in employee lifecycle management.
Strategic role in IT Services
DHL Express operates in more than 220 countries and territories, with India serving as an important centre for technology and back-office services. As global logistics companies accelerate digital transformation and automation, HR leadership within IT services divisions plays a central role in workforce planning, capability development and retention.
While DHL has not publicly detailed Dalvi’s immediate priorities, the role typically encompasses overseeing talent strategy, performance frameworks and engagement across technology teams supporting global operations.
With supply chains becoming increasingly digitised and cybersecurity demands rising, technology functions are expanding within logistics groups. Leadership appointments in HR signal continued investment in strengthening organisational capability.
Dalvi’s appointment positions him at the centre of that effort, as DHL Express continues to scale its technology footprint in India.
