Everest names Christopher Kujawa as chief human resources officer

Everest Group has appointed Christopher Kujawa as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, effective 20 January 2026, as the global reinsurance and insurance group strengthens its senior leadership bench.

The company said Kujawa will report to President and Chief Executive Jim Williamson and join Everest’s executive leadership team. He succeeds Gail Van Beveren, who has served as interim chief human resources officer and will remain with the firm for a short transition period.

Kujawa brings more than 25 years of global human resources experience across financial services and technology-enabled business services. Most recently, he served as chief human resources officer at Conduent, where he worked closely with the board and senior management during a period of organisational change, Everest said in a statement.

At Conduent, Kujawa led the global HR function, overseeing a redesign of the HR operating model, the modernisation of systems and analytics, and workforce strategy tied to governance and executive leadership. Earlier in his career, he held senior HR roles at American Express and Ally Financial, supporting international operations and large-scale corporate restructuring.

Announcing the appointment, Williamson said Kujawa brings a strong track record in leadership development, talent management and organisational performance. He added that Kujawa’s experience would be important as Everest focuses on disciplined execution, profitability and long-term value creation.

Everest has positioned human capital as a strategic priority as it operates across increasingly complex global insurance and reinsurance markets. The appointment comes as insurers face continued pressure to attract specialist talent while managing costs and navigating regulatory and risk challenges.

Kujawa holds a master’s degree in industrial relations from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in economics from South Dakota State University.

Everest Group, whose shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange and form part of the S&P 500 index, said Kujawa’s appointment is part of its broader effort to strengthen leadership capabilities as the company enters its next phase of growth.
