Despite a drop in Tata Sons' profit after tax—from Rs 34,654 crore in FY24 to Rs 26,231.74 crore in FY25—executive chairman N Chandrasekaran's remuneration witnessed a notable rise, underscoring the board's confidence in his long-term leadership.
He has taken home an impressive annual compensation of Rs155.81 crore for FY25, placing him among the highest-paid corporate leaders in the country. The package includes Rs15.12 crore in salary and other compensation, and Rs140.69 crore as commission on profits—marking a 15% hike from the ₹135 crore he received in FY24.
The annual report also noted that Venu Srinivasan, a non-executive director since August 2016, has not drawn any compensation.
In FY25, the Tata Group's revenue across companies stood at a massive $180 billion.
The conglomerate continues to maintain its leadership across diverse sectors, including technology, automotive, steel, retail, infrastructure, energy, financial services, aerospace, tourism, telecom, and investment.
A cornerstone of the Group’s global footprint, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has played a significant role in driving growth. Ranked as the world’s #2 IT services and consultancy company, TCS has been recognised as a Global Top Employer for the tenth consecutive year. With over 200 service delivery centres across 55 countries and a workforce of 6,07,979, TCS is enabling enterprises to embrace AI-first strategies, transform supply chains, drive energy transitions, and build resilient operations. Its FY25 revenue was Rs2,59,286 crore.
Chandrasekaran’s leadership is widely credited for steering the Tata Group into a future-ready enterprise, blending legacy with innovation.
