After weeks of tug of war between Twitter and Elon Musk, the company finally agrees to bow before a deal of $44 Bn proposed by Musk to buy Twitter.
According to a report published by Reuters, on Monday in a transaction control of the social media platform populated by millions of users and global leaders shifted to the world's richest person.
Reuters reported that Twitter kicked off deal negotiations with Elon Musk on Sunday after he wooed many of the social media company's shareholders with financing details on his $43 billion acquisition offer.
"Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated," Musk said in a statement.
According to the reports, many shareholders of Twitter urged the company to not flag off this opportunity since the negotiations between Musk and the company started. Following this announcement, Twitter's shares were up about 6%.
