Vinod K. Dasari will be the Chief Executive Officer of Royal Enfield, taking over from Siddhartha Lal who will continue to fulfill his role of the Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. This decision has been made in order to position the motorcycling brand as a global player.

Dasari will also be joining the Board of Eicher Motors Ltd. in the capacity of an Executive Director.

“Royal Enfield is now building the foundations of its next level of growth. As we commence another exciting chapter, I believe, there is no better person than Vinod Dasari to lead Royal Enfield into its next phase of evolution to a global brand,” said Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director, Eicher Motors Ltd, according to a company statement sent to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Since 2011, Dasari has been the CEO & MD of Ashok Leyland, a company which he joined in 2005 as ar Chief Operating Officer. He has also served as the President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) between 2015 and 2017. From 2013 to 2015, he has also served as the President of Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).

“Personally for me, working with a consumer brand will be a tremendous learning opportunity, and professionally, I am looking forward to the challenge of creating a global consumer brand from India,” Dasari added about his new role and joining Royal Enfield.
