Srikant Sundararajan appointed as partner with Ventureast

Srikant Sundararanjan who has a diverse experience in Information Technology industry, and was previously working with Helion Venture Partner, has now been appointed by Ventureast as a partner in the venture capital firm.

Sundararanjan, who is the IIT Madras alumnus went over to the US for an MS and PhD from Colorado State University and University of Illinois respectively. He also founded three companies, the first of which, Pretzel Logic, was ranked among the top 100 privately held companies in a row.

When he came back to India, he started in the executive team at HCL, and then was offered the role of CTO at Cognizant where he was instrumental in establishing 8 critical COEs during his tenure.

According to Sarath Naru, the Managing Partner of Ventureast, his appointment is important because, "As our legacy goes, we will focus on businesses where capital is not the primary competitive advantage, but technology is."

In his new role, he would be working closely with the firm's current portfolio companies with a focus on expanding business operations and would also be focusing on its sixth new tech fund VPF II, and focusing on consumer tech and enterprise tech. The key would be technology not as enabler but differentiator while choosing the companies to invest in.
