Shocking and disturbing: Yashwant Mahadik

Any labour union or its members' act of protest or violence of this nature is a heinous act and beyond comprehension of any civilised society

What happened in Maruti-Suzuki's Manesar plant on July 18, 2012 is shocking and disturbing. Any labor union or its members’ act of protest or violence of this nature (killing and burning an executive, beating up supervisors and management staff and destroying their own company's property) is a heinous act and is beyond comprehension of any civilized society. This has surely shaken the faith and trust that we have in the industrial climate of this region in our country. We condemn it strongly and support the actions (of a lock-out) of Maruti-Suzuki management, which is believed and seen to be a just and fair employer.
