RIP Prof. S. Sriram

Prof. S. Sriram, former CEO and ED of Great Lakes, passed away last evening due to cardiac arrest.
RIP Prof. S. Sriram

Prof. S. Sriram, the former CEO and Executive Director of Great Lakes institute of Management, Chennai passed away last evening due to cardiac arrest followed by multiple organ failure.

A professor in the area of Strategy and Leadership, he played a crucial role working along with Dr. Bala V Balachandran, in making the institute one of the most sought after B-Schools in the country.

Equally loved by the students and faculty alike, his leadership and passion towards management education was appreciated by all. Since October 2014, he was pursuing his entrepreneurial initiatives with HCL talent care and Cloudcherry. He was heading academics at HCL talent care and was the founder director at Cloudcherry, a Singapore based SAAS Product Company. He also held the position of Executive Director (Emeritus) at Great Lakes and continued to teach there.

He was also widely recognized for his contributions to the field of management education in the country over his career that spanned 26 years, as a part of SP Jain Institute of Management and Research and Great Lakes Institute of Management. He was honoured with the "Outstanding B School Director" award in 2010 by Association of Indian Management Scholars (AIMS) and was awarded the “Life time achievement award” by Ratan Tata on behalf of Great Lakes Institute of Management. He has also contributed as member of several committees in NHRDN, AIMA, CII, FICCI etc. A passionate and articulate professional, he loved teaching subjects in strategy and leadership. Some of his areas of expertise include economics of strategy, management control systems and strategic cost management.

In a note, Dr. Bala states “That spirit of enterprise combined with his dynamite personality made him an excellent leader and I can confidently state that anyone whose life he has touched will remember him very fondly”.
