The HiPo week is in full swing and the excitement has gained a great momentum as the third day of the week had a power packed master class and a very fast-paced tweet chat. Once again the participants were overwhelmed with the kind of insights and learning they gained through these initiatives. In fact one of the participants from the tweet chat admitted to have learnt more from the sixty minutes chat than any learning that would happen over a full week.

The master class focused on ‘Building a High Potential Leadership Development Program’ and was facilitated by two experts, Bridget Beattie, EVP, Right Management APAC Region and Chaitali Mukherjee, Country Manager- India, Right Management. It was a half day event attended by selected HR professionals. The session began with Right Management sharing its research data from various studies, and thereafter getting the participants to discuss and understand their challenges. This was concluded by co- creating a ‘Point of View’ for designing, implementing and institutionalizing High Potential Programs in India.

The whole session flowed around getting design considerations for:

  1. Identifying High Potentials in Indian organizations
  2. Developing High Potentials in Indian organizations
  3. Measuring ROI from High Potential programs in India

And implementation considerations for:

  1. Program managing a HiPo program and communicating for success
  2. Sustaining a HiPo program by making it relevant to organization and the HiPos

The tweet chat on ‘The recipe of a perfect HiPo program’ led by Yashwant Mahadik, Head of HR Business Transformation & Head of Global Learning Philips University saw active participation not just from India but abroad. This unique platform brought together senior industry leaders to discuss and share ideas for getting a perfect HiPo program in place. Highlighting the challenges faced in implementing a HiPo program Anand Pillai Sr EVP & Chief Learning Officer at Reliance tweeted that “The biggest challenge is the continued buy-in of all the stake holders for the entire duration of the program”.

The one hour tweet chat seemed like a moment as the discussion went on with tremendous pace and enthusiasm. With the first tweet chat offering the huge pool of knowledge and learning, one cannot hold back the excitement for the upcoming tweet chat and radio programs! So stay tuned.
