Closing the AI skill gap 

Across industries, only 15–20% of the workforce is currently trained in AI. For ZS, this gap is a call to action. “We’re not just responding to the AI talent gap—we’re building resilience,” Arur shares. 

ZS hires AI specialists, data scientists, and technology generalists with raw potential—prioritising curiosity, learning agility, and problem-solving over experience. Through rigorous onboarding, bootcamps, and digital learning programs, employees are equipped to thrive in AI-powered roles. 

Strategic partnerships with Skillsoft, Degreed, and Coursera offer on-demand access to world-class content in AI, analytics, and leadership. Workshops on prompt engineering and GenAI use cases help teams integrate AI into daily workflows across HR, finance, and admin. 
Learning that sticks 

To foster continuous learning, ZS launched GenAI Jam—an engaging initiative that brought together over 4,200 employees globally to experiment with real-world GenAI applications. The result: reduced time on repetitive tasks and a surge in innovative solutions. 

ZS also runs targeted initiatives like: 
  • Women Ace-a-thon and Reboot@ZS for women returning from career breaks 
  • NGO tie-ups to expand access to AI learning 
  • Domain-specific skilling in Python, R, SQL, Tableau, and Excel 
“We’re encouraging rapid adoption and integration of AI across business units,” Arur says. “These efforts are grounded in transparency and trust.” 
From campus to career 

ZS’s future-ready strategy starts early. Through Campus Beats, students from IITs, NITs, and top B-schools gain exposure to real-world business problems via workshops, case competitions, and mentorship. Alumni ambassadors return to their alma maters to share their ZS journey, while the Campus Pulse program keeps the firm aligned with evolving academic needs.

Each new ZSer is paired with an ICF-certified coach from day one, reinforcing a culture of career ownership and peer-to-peer learning. 
Leadership that includes 

ZS believes in empowering leaders for tomorrow through inclusive, merit-based learning pathways. Equity is embedded into every stage—from access to tools and mentorship to visibility and leadership exposure. Structured programs like: 
  • Path2Principal (P2P): A nine-month coaching initiative for women ZSers, built on resonance, rhythm, and repetition 
  • EmpowHER: For women consultants with 5–7 years of experience, offering mentorship and leadership development 
  • Manager Learning Series: Helping new managers rethink how they lead in a rapidly evolving environment
