GTT acts as the bridge between the industry and the academia for making people employable. Our interventions start even while the students are in the academic system that aims to help them use the time to come up to speed with respect to the industry's expectations. Lately, we are also working with some of the universities and corporates to integrate the specific requirements as part of the curriculum.
There are challenges that we foresee in the process of getting universities to adopt the curriculum, which is time consuming and requires imaginative approaches. Further, gaining the confidence and trust of the companies to absorb the people who are skilled through such programs, as well as convincing companies to adopt these programs that would deliver the required talent also takes time. Ultimately, in order to make the exercise successful and scalable, pilots and proof of concept with demonstrable difference would be important.
The initiatives at GTT particularly cater to entry level skills required by IT/ ITES/ retail/ BFSI/ engineering sectors at this point of time. The average investment that is required per candidate to make them employable/productive on the job is anywhere between Rs.10,000 to Rs.50,000. And this amount is borne in parts by the student, company that will hire such skills and the government.
In the case of a global organization, we have been able to help companies save as much as USD 3 million in 1 year through our model and this has resulted in the organization adopting the model further for multiple verticals.
