Abbott India appoints Swati Dalal as Additional Director and Managing Director

In her new role, Swati Dalal brings around three decades of industry experience and will continue to serve in this role for the next three years.
Abbott India appoints Swati Dalal as Additional Director and Managing Director

The Board of Abbott India has announced the appointment of Swati Dalal as the Additional Director and Managing Director, to be effective from April 1, 2024. 

The company said in an official release, “We hereby inform you that, the Board at its Meeting held today i.e., March 13, 2024 approved the appointment of Ms Swati Dalal as an Additional Director and the Managing Director of the Company with effect from April 1, 2024. On her appointment as Managing Director, Ms Swati Dalal shall also be the Key Managerial Personnel of the Company effective the same date. Ms Swati Dalal is an active member of the DEI Council of Abbott in India, a founder member of the 'Women Leaders of Abbott' India Chapter, and a Business Advisory Council (BAC) sponsor of the Early Careers Network in India.”

Swati, who has been with Abbott India since 1995, will continue serving in her new role for a period of three years, until March 31, 2027. She began her journey at Abbott as a Product Manager and has since transitioned into several leadership roles over the past two decades. In May 2023, she was appointed as the General Manager for EPD’s Primary Care business, following her tenure as General Manager for Abbott’s India Nutrition business since 2020.

Prior to joining Abbott, Swati worked with Knoll Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Wockhardt Ltd. On the academic front, she holds a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from P.K.M. Kundnani College of Pharmacy, and a postgraduate degree in Management Studies (Marketing) from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.
