The Adani Group which recently acquired ACC and Ambuja Cements has named Jayant Kumar as the chief human resource officer (CHRO). The appointment of Kumar to the post became effective on October 1.

Kumar who joined Adani Group in 2019 comes with close to 30 years of experience. Before being appointed as CHRO, Kumar was working as Jt President- HR at Adani Ports and SEZ. Before Adani, he worked with TATA Power as CHRO from September 2016 to January 2019.

Kumar who started his career as manager of HR at NTPC Limited in 1994 holds a postgraduation in Economics and Ph.D. in Talent Management from Patna. He also holds an LLB degree from Mumbai University.

In addition to NTPC, Kumar also worked with Tata Services Ltd, NTPC, Reliance communications, North Delhi Power Limited, and Marico Ltd.

Ambuja Cements and ACC have a combined installed production capacity of 67.5 MTPA.
