Aequs appoints Kapil Mahajan as senior VP and CHRO

Mahajan’s appointment will strengthen Aequs’ people strategy and accelerate the development of a high-performance, future-ready organisational culture. His deep expertise in HR transformation and leadership development will be instrumental in driving growth and aligning talent with Aequs’ strategic goals. 

Mahajan brings over two decades of diverse HR leadership experience across organisations like Tata Advanced Systems, Tata Teleservices, Pfizer, Aditya Birla Group, and Reliance Communications. 

This repertoire of experience has enabled Mahajan to influence culture and strategy across organisations. Partnering with senior leaders, his ability to create contexts for continuous learning for employees and organizations through various People & Culture interventions is commendable.

In his immediate past role, Mahajan led business HR and business development at Tata Advanced Systems Ltd., where he was responsible for HR Business partnering and driving Aerostructure and Aero Engines HR operations. He has been able to inspire and introduce the best practices in culture, talent transformation, capacity utilisation, and employee experiences in greenfield ventures, elevating employer-employee relations to new levels. 

He has mentored and coached many young leaders in these organisations. He strongly believes in human possibilities and leveraging talent through technology to build a trust-driven culture. A well-networked professional in the HR domain both in India and globally, Mahajan is known for his deep subject matter expertise and contributions across industry forums.

An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, he is a certified coach and an active contributor to HR thought leadership, with strong interests in D&I, talent density, AI, and mentorship.
