APAR Industries appoints Dr Vinod Kumar Singh as Chief Human Resources Officer

Dr Singh brings over three decades of experience across Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa, with deep expertise in managing complex, multinational workforces. 

Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles at organisations such as the Aditya Birla Group, Ambuja Cement, Ambuja Neotia and Daewoo Motors. He is widely recognised for aligning people strategies with business growth, operational efficiency and large-scale, culture-shaping transformation initiatives. 

“His experience includes leading multi-country HR functions through periods of restructuring, crisis management and acquisitions, while delivering measurable outcomes through strategic alignment and data-driven decision-making. Dr Singh has consistently focused on building leadership capability, strengthening critical skills, and aligning talent priorities with evolving business needs,” the company shared in the announcement. 

Dr Singh will report to Chaitanya N. Desai, Managing Director of the company, and will lead the company’s people and culture agenda across geographies. “His mandate includes driving human resources strategy, strengthening leadership and talent pipelines, and enhancing organisational effectiveness to support APAR’s global growth ambitions,” the official statement included.

Welcoming Dr Singh to the leadership team, N. Desai said, “Dr Vinod Kumar Singh’s extensive experience and strategic perspective will be instrumental as APAR continues its growth journey across global markets. His ability to build scalable, future-ready organisations aligns well with our long-term vision.” 

Known for repositioning HR as a strategic business enabler rather than a support function, Dr Singh emphasises creating strong linkages between people strategy and enterprise performance. His leadership approach centres on building sustainable organisational capabilities that deliver long-term value.

On the academic front, Dr Singh holds a PhD in Human Resources Development from Burapha University, Thailand, and a Master’s degree in Organisational Development from Assumption University, Thailand. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, India, a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Amravati University, India, and a BSc in Mathematics from Government College, Korba, India.
