Global financial service provider Apex Group Ltd has confirmed the appointment of Akshay Thakurdesai, as Country Head of India. He assumed his new role effective September. 

In his new role, Thakurdesai will be responsible for leading the business and continuing the development and growth of Apex Group’s operations in India. He will be based in Pune and will report to Jeff Pamplin, Global Head of Operations.

A banking professional Thakurdesai comes with more than 18 years of experience in Securities Services and Global Markets business lines with exposure to work in Europe and APAC. 

Before Apex Group, Thakurdesai was associated with PNB Paribas where he spent more than 13 years. In his most recent role, he served as Head of Securities Services in India.

With a master’s degree in Commerce from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Thakurdesai is known for his expertise in the core back office, middle office operations, and change management among others.

According to Jeff Pamplin, Global Head of Operations, India is a resilient and adaptable market and has immense growth opportunities.
