Asian Paints appoints R Seshasayee as chairman

Asian Paints has appointed R Seshasayee, as the chairman of the board and the company for years, effective October 1. His tenure as chairman will come to an end on January 22, 2027.

As chairman Seshasayee has succeeded Deepak Satwalekar, whose term will end on September 30.

In a recent regulatory filing, the paint company announced that they have appointed R Seshasayee, as the new Chairman of the board and the company. He also serves as an independent director.

Notably, R Seshasayee joined the Board of Directors of Asian Paints Limited as an Independent Director on January 23, 2017. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Investment Committee and as a member of the Audit Committee and the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

In his new role, R Seshasayee brings a wealth of experience.  Earlier, he served as the managing director of Ashok Leyland Limited from 1998 to 2011, followed by holding the positions of executive vice chairman from 2011 to 2013 and non-executive vice chairman from 2013 to 2016. Additionally, he served as the Non-Executive Chairman of IndusInd Bank from 2007 to 2019. Throughout his career, he has been an Independent Director on various company boards, including ICICI Bank and Infosys Ltd, where he served as Chairman from 2015 to 2017.

He also held positions like president of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers during 2001-2003 and president of the Confederation of Indian Industry in 2006-2007.

With Seshasayee’s appointment, the company looks forward to his leadership and expertise in steering Asian Paints Limited toward continued growth and success in the coming years.
