Industry veteran Narsingh Chaudhary has been appointed as President, Asia Pacific and India, by Black & Veatch, the global provider of critical human infrastructure solutions.

Chaudhary has over 25 years of experience in the infrastructure industry. He previously held the role of Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, for the company.

He will take over from Hoe Wai Cheong, who will retire at the end of 2023 after a remarkable career of over 16 years with Black & Veatch and nearly 40 years in the energy and chemical industries.

Welcoming Chaudhary to the team, Mario Azar, Black & Veatch’s Chairman and CEO, said, “As Asia focuses on megatrends reshaping the world including decarbonisation, power grid resiliency, instant communication, clean transportation, water scarcity, and cyber security, his leadership and our diverse portfolio of solutions will help clients address their biggest challenges.”

He further added, “Hoe Wai’s contributions to the industry and to Black & Veatch are well-recognised and his leadership has added to the solid foundation the company has built since our first projects in the region nearly 60 years ago”.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Narsingh Chaudhary conveyed his excitement regarding his appointment. “I look forward to continuing to build on the successful track record of the company in Asia Pacific and India. Our team of professionals, backed by our global reach and experience, are committed to listening and understanding our clients’ needs and delivering safe, reliable, resilient and sustainable solutions.”

Having joined Black & Veatch in 2007, Hoe Wai played a crucial role as the president of the company's gas, fuels, and chemicals business. In this position, he held responsibilities for global strategy, business development, as well as project acquisition and execution.

Based on Hoe Wai's LinkedIn profile, he possesses a remarkable career, having worked in esteemed companies such as ExxonMobil Malaysia, GlaxoSmithKline, and Aker Kvaerner, among others.

While the exact reason for his decision to step down is unknown at this time, his extensive background in the industry has undoubtedly contributed to his successful tenure at Black & Veatch.

With a century-long history of pioneering sustainable infrastructure solutions, Black & Veatch is an employee-owned company that specialises in engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction services.
