ZEISS Group, a global technology pioneer of science in optics and optoelectronics, in India, has announced the appointment of Santana Ramakrishnan as its new chief human resources officer (CHRO) for India and SAARC markets.

Santana will be responsible for devising systems and processes to meet people and business needs in line with global corporate governance and standards. She will also closely collaborate with the global teams and functions to enable cohesive growth and transformation towards the company’s vision of ONE ZEISS.

Santana started her HR professional journey with GE Capital and subsequently, with AXA she worked in key roles with the country businesses, Asia Regional Office, and Global HO, setting up and consolidating AXA’s people practices in new and existing markets. 

Santana has also worked with Goldman Sachs where she was responsible for building a robust global HR operations practice. Apart from two decades of experience working with multi-national corporations she has honed her skills within the Indian start-up ecosystem with stints in Udaan.com and DealShare.  

Her experience lies with extensive stints in Asia and across client groups in Europe and the Americas. 

She holds a Post Graduate Degree in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from XLRI, Jamshedpur and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Stella Maris College, Chennai.
