CMS Info Systems appoints Will Poole as independent director

The appointment comes as CMS increases its focus on Vision AI, data and automation across its technology and payments business.
CMS Info Systems has appointed Will Poole as an Additional Director (Independent), bringing technology and emerging-market expertise to its board as the company accelerates its AI strategy.
Poole is Managing Partner and Co-founder of Capria Ventures, where he invests in technology businesses across the Global South. He also serves as the firm's Chief AI Evangelist.
The appointment comes as CMS increases its focus on Vision AI, data and automation across its technology and payments business.
CMS strengthens board for next growth phase
CMS operates across ATM management, retail and currency logistics, and technology and payments.
“Over two decades, we have grown CMS into a market leader in all our businesses. Will joins our board at an important point in our transformation, as we accelerate investments in our Technology & Payment Solutions segment,” said Rajiv Kaul, Executive Vice Chairman & CEO, CMS Info Systems.
“He has operated technology businesses at global scale and backed founders building in markets like ours, and that mix of operating judgment and investing discipline is exactly the perspective we want in the room as we shape the next phase of CMS’s growth,” Kaul added.
Focus shifts to AI and intelligent services
Poole commented, “CMS has built something rare in India: banking-grade trust and last-mile reach at national scale.
He added, “What draws me to this board is the chance to help transform that foundation into intelligent, technology-led services for the country’s financial infrastructure. Some of the most consequential applied AI opportunities will be built in India, serving large national institutions that reach hundreds of millions of citizens.”
Poole brings four decades of experience across technology, business leadership and venture investing. He spent more than 12 years at Microsoft before moving into venture investing.
He joined Microsoft in 1996 after the company acquired eShop, the e-commerce business he co-founded. He later served as Corporate Vice President, leading multiple business lines.
Building technology into financial infrastructure
Poole's appointment comes as CMS looks to deepen the role of technology across its operations.
The company is investing in Vision AI, data and automation to strengthen its technology and payments capabilities.
The move reflects a broader shift in financial infrastructure, where AI is being used to improve automation, efficiency and decision-making.
For CMS, the focus is on turning its nationwide reach and operational capabilities into more intelligent, technology-led services.
