Cognizant appoints Vishal Salvi to head Cybersecurity business
Cognizant has appointed Vishal Salvi as Senior Vice President and Global Practice Head to lead the Cybersecurity business.
Cognizant has appointed Vishal Salvi as Senior Vice President and Global Practice Head to lead the Cybersecurity business. In this role, he will be reporting to Annadurai Elango, President - Core Technologies & Insights, Cognizant.
Salvi joins Cognizant from Quick Heal Technologies, a cybersecurity product company, where he held the position of Chief Executive Officer.
Before joining Cognizant, he was Global Chief Information Security Officer, Business Head of the Cybersecurity Service Line & SVP at Infosys. His extensive expertise spanning more than three decades in cybersecurity has also been honed through leadership roles at organisations such as PwC, HDFC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Global Trust Bank, Development Credit Bank, and Crompton Greaves.
Salvi comes with extensive management and domain experience in driving transformative Cybersecurity programs. He was an Independent Director of DSCI – Data Security Council of India for five years and is also a member of multiple Advisory Councils and Boards to provide leadership and direction on various Cybersecurity issues, accelerating the adoption of cybersecurity best practices across industries.
He holds a degree in computer science engineering and an MBA in Finance from Bombay University. He has also attended Executive Leadership Programs at Harvard, Stanford, and IIM Ahmedabad.
