A seasoned HR leader with global experience across consumer goods, tech, and manufacturing, Vinayak Deshpande steps into a pivotal people leadership role at Parle Products.

Parle Products has appointed Vinayak Deshpande as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, marking an important leadership move for one of India’s most established consumer goods companies. His entry comes at a time when the organisation is sharpening its talent strategy to support growth across both traditional and emerging business lines.

Deshpande brings more than two decades of HR experience across multinational environments. He joins Parle after nearly five years at Amazon, where he most recently led the HR function for the UK & Europe Marketplace division. Before that, he served as Regional Lead for Amazon India, playing a central role in shaping people practices during a period of accelerated expansion and organisational change.

Prior to Amazon, Deshpande spent over five years with Kerry, taking on a diverse portfolio of HR responsibilities across Southwest Asia and later the Middle East, India, and Africa. His work there spanned leadership development, scaling HR operations across multiple markets, and supporting the company’s M&A activity in the region.

Before that, he held HR positions with GSK, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and PepsiCo, each giving him exposure to different business environments and workforce challenges. People familiar with his career say these roles helped him build a practical, ground-level understanding of how culture, capability building and organisational structure come together in large enterprises. He began his professional journey at ACC Limited, which gave him early experience in the fundamentals of HR operations.

Industry watchers believe his blend of regional experience and hands-on leadership will be valuable as Parle continues to modernise its people strategy. With a mandate that is expected to include capability building and strengthening internal systems, Deshpande will likely play a central part in supporting the company’s next phase of growth. He holds an MBA in Human Resources from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
