Genpact's growth-minded CHRO, Piyush Mehta, has taken on an additional responsibility as Country Manager for India. His elevation to drive Genpact's country-wide strategy is the next step in the company's ongoing drive towards an AI-first strategy, which is itself a response to strong demand for expanded AI enterprise services across the India market.

Piyush has supported Genpact's HR strategy for almost 25 years, since before it was spun off from GE, and his emphasis on building a strong, purpose-driven culture has been a key building block in Genpact's aim to be consistently named an employer of choice. He was appointed CHRO in 2005 and subsequently supported Genpact's spinoff in the same year, then its listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2007.

Referencing his track record of building and growing the company's talent ecosystem, BK Kalra, President and CEO, Genpact, said: "India remains a strategic talent market for Genpact, and we believe people are the greatest assets for us and our clients. [Piyush's] experience will be invaluable as we strengthen Genpact's foundation in India."

As a leader who has placed emphasis on first identifying core needs and then leveraging technology to meet those needs, Piyush is well placed for his expanded role, which the official announcement describes as leveraging his expertise to "drive Genpact's AI-first strategy in India, driving value for key India stakeholders while continuing to lead the company's HR function globally."

"India's talent has always been a prime differentiator for economic growth in the country," Piyush commented, and added in a LinkedIn post: "Super stoked to build on Genpact’s storied foundation, as we continue to grow our business and contribute to the country’s economic development."

Last year, Genpact announced that it was establishing a generative AI practice in partnership with Google Cloud, in response to what chief strategy officer Katie Stein identified as increased demand from clients wanting to to leverage generative AI to improve productivity, minimize risk, and provide enhanced employee and customer experiences.
