German Lens manufacturer ZEISS names Miguel Gonzalez Diaz as MD of India and SAARC

The ZEISS Group has announced the appointment of Miguel Gonzalez Diaz as the new Managing Director (MD) of Carl Zeiss India (Bangalore) Pvt. Ltd and neighbouring nations. Miguel Gonzalez has taken over from Wilson Thomas who announced his retirement after having been with the company for close to 18 years.

With a leadership experience spanning more than 25 years, Miguel Gonzalez brings wealth of knowledge in leadership and management to his new role, with a strong background in business development and strategies, sales, and marketing. 

Miguel Gonzalez has been with the ZEISS Group for more than 10 years in various leadership roles. He makes this transition after having been the MD of ZEISS Mexico where he helped shape the success of ZEISS Mexico and in Central America and the Caribbean, increasing the business in all the segments and developing Quality Centers, the core facility, and the training center.

Before joining ZEISS, he led Dräger Medical Hispania, S.A. and Dräger Portugal, Lta as General Manager.

He will be responsible for driving the growth and development of Carl Zeiss India, a key market for the company. Miguel Gonzalez will lead the overall strategy and operations for the company, working closely with the India and global leadership team to ensure that ZEISS in India and SAARC delivers innovative and high-quality products and services to its customers.

Commenting on his appointment, Dr. Karl Lamprecht, President and CEO of the ZEISS Group said, “Miguel Gonzalez’s deep industry knowledge and extensive leadership experience at a global level will help ZEISS in India further strengthen our strong and sustained phase of growth in the Indian optics and optoelectronics segments.”
