Johnson Controls Hitachi names new MD India & South Asia region

Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning (JCH) India Limited has announced the appointment of Sanjay Sudhakaran as the new Managing Director of India & South Asia region, effective July 1.

Sudhakaran has joined Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning from Schneider Electric Infrastructure India where he was serving as managing director and CEO.

Sudhakaran has succeeded Gurmeet Singh, who stepped down as chairman and managing director on June 30 to pursue other interests. Singh will remain as senior advisor to JCH - India until September 30. 

"I am delighted to join Johnson Controls – Hitachi (JCH) India Limited,” said Sudhakaran who aims to drive profitable growth, with a focus on gaining market share, improving profitability, and creating long-term value for all our stakeholders.

Sudhakaran who comes with more than 30 years of exposure to multiple industries & diverse cultures began his career with Carrier Corporation in 1993.  He was the regional director for ASEAN and India of Carrier Corporation when he left the company in 2011. He also served as the country head and managing director of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration. He previously worked for United Technologies as managing director, buildings and industrial solutions and for Otis Elevator as senior director, Asia Pacific, mergers and acquisitions, sales and marketing before joining Schneider Electric in 2019.
